“Our National Heritage” explores the history of National Heritage Areas that have been recognized nationwide for their important contribution to the identity of America. A study in art, literature, music, science, culture and society, Our National Heritage is a character driven story that explores how the people shaped the land and the land shaped the people.

The first episode focuses on the Schuylkill River National and State Heritage Area , located in the five counties of southeastern Pennsylvania including Philadelphia. The region is known as “The Revolutionary River” due to its involvement in three “Revolutions” in American history, the American Revolution, the Industrial Revolution and the Environmental Revolution. The story portrays moments in American history that yet define our national character.
