Join us this summer and paddle the scenic and historic Schuylkill River from Schuylkill Haven, PA to Philadelphia’s iconic Boathouse Row in the singular experience that is the Schuylkill River Sojourn. Now in its 27th year, the Sojourn brings nearly 300 people together, from different backgrounds, different generations, and different locations. Each day finds about 100 paddlers on the water making a daily trip of 14-18 miles.
We take care of everything, you just show up on your paddling day to enjoy the river and put your gear on the truck (keep your keys with you). Our experienced river guides will do a quick safety briefing, and you hit the water. We provide water (and bathroom stops), and 3 meals a day, along with a complementary shuttle to get you back to your car at the end of the day. If you’re joining us for multiple days, you camp with our group each night at a different location. Click below for the itinerary:
The camaraderie of the Sojourn is unparalleled-creating what we like to call “The Sojourn Spirit.” It’s evident in the warm embraces of old friends greeting each other on the first day in Schuylkill Haven, in the helping hands of veteran paddlers carrying boats over a portage for new sojourners, in the families that have raised their kids attending their event and now bring their grandchildren, and in the familiar faces of community groups who welcome us and serve meals at our many stops from Schuylkill County to Philly.

If you’re not quite ready to jump into the Sojourn with us, we have some great events planned this summer to get you out in the watershed and onto the river!
