On Saturday, July 11th over 100 kayakers will take to the river for a one-of-a-kind paddling event and festival to celebrate the unique historical significance of the Schuylkill River and Fort Mifflin on the Delaware. The event will begin at the Walnut Street dock and kayakers will paddle through the heart of Philadelphia decked out in red, white and blue, creating an amazing spectacle for visitors and residents to view and cheer on the flotilla from the river bridges.
The flotilla will paddle eight miles, led by experienced river guides, to Fort Mifflin, the “Fort that Saved America,” to continue the celebration. Food, beverages, and ice cream, along with tours and a cannon firing, await the paddlers and guests at Fort Mifflin!
