POTTSTOWN, PA (August 12, 2026) – Schuylkill River Greenways has named longtime journalist and nonprofit communications professional Jason Brudereck as its Director of Communications.

Brudereck will lead communications, media relations, and marketing efforts to raise awareness of Schuylkill River Greenways’ work along the Schuylkill River and Schuylkill River Trail and throughout the Schuylkill River National Heritage Area.

“Jason is doing more than telling people what we do; he’s giving them reasons to care and ways to get involved,” said Elaine Paul Schaefer, Executive Director. “Our new Stewardship Trail Challenge is a perfect example. People who already love walking, running, biking, or paddling along the Schuylkill can turn those miles into support for maintaining the trail. Jason’s experience will help us tell stories like that, reach new audiences, and connect more people with the river and trail.”

Previously, Brudereck led public and media relations for dozens of nonprofits as a communications consultant and held communications roles at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library and Berks County Community Foundation. He began his career as a reporter for the Reading Eagle.

Brudereck lives in Berks County, where he volunteers with several nonprofits and serves on the Berks County Public Libraries System Advisory Board. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Boston University.
