Big Boy 4014 and the SRT
Big Boy No. 4014 is the world’s largest operating steam locomotive. Of the eight remaining Big Boys in existence today, No. 4014 is the only one still in operation. This impressive train will be in Schuylkill River Heritage Area and viewable from points along the Schuylkill River Trail this July.

Enjoy an afternoon of great food, drinks, music, and community while you wait for one of the most iconic trains in American history to roll through! The train is scheduled to depart Reading around 2:15 PM and arrive in Pottstown around 3:30 PM, passing directly behind our property along the way.
Pottstown is throwing the Big Boy a block party to celebrate the Whistle Stop at the transportation center. Hanover Street will be closed from noon to 5pm with food trucks and more. Plan ahead if you’d like to attend-more information on parking and festivities can be found below.
Schuylkill River Greenways will be out in Riverfront Park from 12-5 on July 2nd with water bottle refills, snacks, trail maps, and more! Be sure to make the park part of your day in Pottstown.
