Water Trail Alert:
CAUTION: A tree has fallen into the river left opening of the Titus Wing Dam (at River Mile 71.3), causing a hazardous strainer situation in this strong current. Until this hazard is removed, DO NOT attempt to run this chute! Portage on river right around the dam. (February 22, 2023)
Whether you’re an avid bicyclist and paddler or a beginner, you’ll enjoy this fun adventure! Guides provide instruction and safety.
The adventurous activity will begin with a 4.5 mile bike ride along the Schuylkill River Trail lead by our partner Take It Outdoors. Then participants will stop at Douglassville’s Ganshahawny Park to enjoy a boxed meal before paddling on the river. During your meal, you’ll learn more about Schuylkill River Greenways from one of our representatives.
At Ganshahawny Park, the group will receive a brief introduction to kayaking from Take it Outdoors before paddling back to Pottstown along the Schuylkill River.
All participants will be required to wear the provided personal flotation device and sign a waiver. Regardless of skill level, everyone will receive a safety briefing before beginning the excursion. Participants must register in advance. A meal, guides, bike, kayak and all other gear are included with each registration. The cost is $40 per person.
By registering for this event, you give permission for your photograph to be taken during this event and activity and for the organizers of this activity to use your photographic image for any advertising or publicity for this and other Schuylkill River Greenway Association events. Waiver must be signed as well. A parent/guardian signature is required for participants under 18 years of age at the time of event.
