♦︎ Remnants of river re-routing

CAUTION. Remnants of river re-routing. 40.573987, -76.018037

Always use caution and scout ahead when approaching problem areas.

From just above the PA-61 Bridge to about 100 yds upriver of Pulpit Rock, a shallow ledge with angular rock debris remains from the 1920s re-routing of the river. At normal or lower water levels, enter this area by going to the right of hard-to-spot “Mark’s Rock” on RL and stay to the left of the center pier of the PA-61 Bridge. Then head to the deeper water on RL before winding through the three rocks at the entrance to a short chute through the ledge.
