Schuylkill River Greenways offers several FREE educational programs which provide an opportunity for student and community groups to learn about the Schuylkill River Watershed, watershed threats and protection, and other environmental education lessons such as birding, native plant and tree identification, and water quality testing.
Under the direction of SRG Education staff, participants foster an appreciation for nature and an understanding of how positive changes in personal behavior has positive changes on the environment.
Learn about the watershed through environmental activities such as birding, native plant identification, and water demonstrations. Program lessons are dependent on learning goals and age range.





The Big Map
Bring watershed learning to life with the new Schuylkill River Watershed Big Map! This 30 foot by 33 foot map allows participants to step into the Schuylkill River watershed and explore how land, water, and communities are connected. Educators and community groups can choose from guided programs led by our Education Director or choose to borrow the map for a self-guided experience using our lessons. This is the only map of its kind in the region and offers an opportunity to experience the watershed in an entirely new way!
