MORE DETAILS

We invite you to meet Schuylkill River Greenways at the Berks County Community Foundation (BCCF) office to learn about their LEED certified headquarters. LEED means “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.” BCCF earned the highest level of LEED® certification available to environmentally sustainable or “green” buildings. We will learn about the green features of their building, which include: rainwater cisterns, recycled building materials, a planted roof and more!

The BCCF was founded in 1994 to help individuals, families, organizations and businesses achieve their charitable objectives and improve the quality of life for the residents of Berks County. Many of those objectives have been met by establishing funds at the Community Foundation with specific purposes. Since that time, the Community Foundation has grown to manage hundreds of charitable funds. Each year, those funds distribute scholarships and grants to support local students and assist a variety of nonprofit organizations and causes.
