The riverbanks in this industrial 5.1-mile stretch of the Schuylkill River, from Bartram’s Garden to its confluence with the Delaware River, are, like in the Upper Tidal Schuylkill, almost completely walled, preventing paddlers from getting off the river. If you plan an out-and-back exploration on the Lower Tidal Schuylkill from Bartram’s Garden, be aware of not only its lack of public egress, but also its large boat & barge traffic.
