YOUR Trail Needs You!
ABOUT GIVING TUESDAY NOW
#GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity taking place on December 1, 2020. It’s a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.
Schuylkill River Greenways (SRG) is a nonprofit organization that builds and maintains the Schuylkill River Trail, as well as cleans the Schuylkill River. The COVID-19 pandemic revealed just how essential the Schuylkill River Trail and River is to the community. These free resources have been providing physical, mental, and social benefits to people during a time when they’re most needed. SRG, like many, is facing an uncertain and difficult financial future. With this in mind, we are participating in #GivingTuesday, and reaching out to all of our supporters – we need you now more than ever.
“It (the Schuylkill River Trail) is beautiful. You just feel more connected to nature and you breathe deeper,” Marie Haigh said.
Marie Haigh and her family, like many others, have found solace in nature during the very challenging COVID-19 health crisis. With stay-at-home orders and physical distancing guidelines in place throughout the state, the Schuylkill River Trail is a resource still open to the public for enjoyment, exercise and a mental reprieve.
