Keller Williams Realty Group is now a participant of the Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area’s Adopt-A-Trail program.

Keller Williams Realty made a commitment to maintain a 1.5-mile stretch of the Schuylkill River Trail Thun section. The adopted trail section begins near the Grosstown Road Trailhead at the Berks County line and continues west through the Morlatton Village Trailhead until it ends at the west side of the Douglassville Bridge.

Signs recognizing Keller Williams Realty as an Adopt-A-Trail participant were installed along the adopted trail segment. Keller Williams Realty Group is a Montgomery County real estate agency with listings in Limerick, Collegeville and more. For more information about Keller Williams Realty, visit the website at kwrealtygroup.com.

The Adopt-A-Trail program is intended for groups who are willing to commit to trail projects, such as litter cleanups and pruning, three times a year for two years along a specified segment of trail. Signs acknowledging participants are posted along the adopted trail segment.

The Schuylkill River Greenways NHA is responsible for maintaining 28 miles of the Schuylkill River Trail in Berks and Schuylkill Counties. Since limited funds are available, an active group of volunteers regularly grooms the trail and trailheads

The Adopt-a-Trail program provides opportunities for organizations and businesses to care for the trail.

“Adopt-A-Trail participants such as Keller Williams Realty make it possible for people to continue to utilize the Schuylkill River Trail as a recreational resource,” said Schuylkill River Greenways NHA Executive Director Elaine Paul Schaefer.

The Schuylkill River Greenways NHA seeks organizations with the ability to commit to an adopted trail section for multiple years, since signs are posted naming Adopt-A-Trail participants. Those interested in becoming an Adopt-A-Trail participant or who want to learn more about the program, can contact the Schuylkill River Greenways NHA at 484-945-0200 or email Trails Project Manager Robert Folwell at rfolwell@schuylkillriver.org.
