The Chester Springs Studio is a vibrant arts center at Historic Yellow Springs. Founded in 1978 as an offshoot of Historic Yellow Springs, the Studio grew in reputation as a nationally-known home for the visual arts, particularly in the areas of painting and ceramics. In October 2007, the Studio formally became part of Historic Yellow Springs through an institutional merger. The merger unified the village of Yellow Springs and formed the basis for an innovative mix of arts, history, and interdisciplinary program experiences.
Today, the Chester Springs Studio continues as an artistic epicenter in northern Chester County. The Studio’s dedicated core of faculty members bring experience and excitement to intimate classroom settings. Workshops led by visiting artists expand student’s horizons in ceramics, sculpture, painting, photography, and other pursuits. Exhibitions provide a way for established and emerging artists to showcase their works while educating the public about visual art.
Chester Springs Studio receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
