CAUTION: A tree has fallen into the river left opening of the Titus Wing Dam (at River Mile 71.3), causing a hazardous strainer situation in this strong current. Until this hazard is removed, DO NOT attempt to run this chute! Portage on river right around the dam. (February 22, 2023)
The Schuylkill River Greenways map is divided by Trailheads, Trail Towns and Places to Visit.
Green Lane Park offers fishing, boating, picnicking, horseback riding trails, hiking trails, mountain biking trails, family/organized group camping, equestrian camping, tennis, playgrounds, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and ice fishing. In addition, environmental education programs and classes are available.
The park consists of over 3400 acres and three bodies of water totaling 870 acres. The Deep Creek Lake area offers overnight campsites for family camping and organized groups, two tennis courts, two playgrounds, picnic areas and an enclosed pavilion (through reservation only). The Hill Road Day Use Area offers trails, a picnic area and boat rentals through an private, outside vendor. All picnic areas have tables and charcoal grills. The park offers over 20 miles of internal trails for hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians to enjoy the natural beauty of the seasons. Wintertime sees the heartier sports of ice skating, cross-country skiing, sledding and ice fishing.
Leashed pets are welcome in the park, but are restricted from entering any of the creek or lake waters and the campground.
