The Please Touch Museum is the children’s museum of Philadelphia. Please Touch is designed for families with young children and since 1976, has dedicated itself to enriching the lives of children by creating learning opportunities through play.
Please Touch Museum is home to six interactive exhibit zones across 38,000 square feet, designed to encourage learning through play. The exhibits are open-ended, allowing families to personalize each visit, for there is no wrong way to play!
It has grown into one of the best children’s museums in the nation, and its programs for underserved families have been nationally recognized. The museum’s mission is to enrich the lives of children by creating learning opportunities through play, laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning and cultural awareness.
Please Touch Museum tends to be busier on rainy days. You may want to schedule your visit on fair weather days. Mornings are also a busy time with most school groups visiting during this time. Afternoons are a great time to visit the museum as well as Mondays when groups are not scheduled.
It is located in Memorial Hall, the only major building remaining of the 1876 Centennial. Centennial Tours are available that explore the history, art and architecture of Memorial Hall, first home of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the 1876 World’s Fair. $15 for a guided tour, $12 self-guided.
