Bartram’s Garden is a 45-acre National Historic Landmark operated by the John Bartram Association in cooperation with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation. It is an outdoor classroom, living laboratory, and community garden. Bartram’s Garden is America’s oldest preserved botanic garden and includes what is believed to be the oldest standing barn in Philadelphia County. Parking is available at the Welcome Center, at 51 st Street, and at the 56 th Street Plaza. Public bathrooms and water are available at the Welcome Center. Short trail loops, playground and picnic facilities, gardens, a boat dock, and fishing are additional activities available at Bartram’s Garden.
