Nicknamed “The Little Town That Could” for its strong community spirit, Schuylkill Haven is nestled in the mountains of eastern Pennsylvania and has long been a crossroads of river and rail. Founded in 1750 by John Fincher as Fincher’s Ford, the borough grew along the Schuylkill River during the anthracite coal era and became a key hub of America’s Industrial Revolution. Today, with a population of over 5,200, Schuylkill Haven is a vibrant community known for its quality schools, strong services, rich heritage, and local employers including Evans Distributing, and Alpha Mills as well as attractions such as the Walk In Art Center.
