The Schuylkill River Greenways map is divided by Trailheads, Trail Towns and Places to Visit.
Betzwood Trailhead is part of the 3,500 acre Valley Forge National Historical Park. This large, wooded trailhead provides parking for at least 80 cars in a pleasant setting and provides restrooms, drinking water, picnic area, boat launch and access to more miles of great trails within the park.
SULLIVAN’S BRIDGE: A new 14-foot wide, 602-foot long bike/pedestrian bridge over the Schuylkill River was recently completed, connecting Valley Forge National Historical Park to the Schuylkill River Trail. Known as Sullivan’s Bridge, it replaced a wooden plank bridge alongside Route 422. Learn more
ACCESSIBILITY NOTES
The SRT section from Valley Forge to Mont Clare is mostly off road with a paved surface and a gentle grade of less than 3%. However, a short section of trail south of Mont Clare is currently on road. The trail from Valley Forge to the city limits of Philadelphia is off-road with a paved surface and gentle grade.
